Re-enrollment Letters
As we approach the annual Open Enrollment Plan, there are a few things you should know. First and foremost, you should check your mailbox regularly. Two pieces of mail should arrive by November 1, 2022. You will receive a letter from your insurance company and another from the Marketplace. Your Obamacare plan for 2023 will be re-enrolled via both of these letters.Â
You will likely receive a letter from your insurance company suggesting an alternate or similar plan if it’s not available.Â
The upcoming year’s plan will be updated if any changes have been made, including copays, prescription drug coverage, and provider networks. Your monthly premiums will also be shown after your premium tax credit has been applied, if applicable. If you applied for Marketplace health coverage in 2022, your subsidy amount was most likely calculated using the information you provided.Â
You will receive a Marketplace letter with information about how to apply for a premium tax credit for 2023. It may be necessary for you to submit tax or income information. Additionally, you’ll receive instructions on how to update your existing application so you receive the correct savings and subsidies in 2023.Â
When you re-enroll for your 2023 plan during the Open Enrollment Period, keep both of these letters in a safe place.
Renewal Steps To Follow
It is important that you update your Marketplace application information for 2023, regardless of whether you are changing plans, need to change plans, or plan to keep your current plan.Â
The process of applying for health insurance through HealthCare.gov is more complicated, but Get Health Rates’s Licensed Agents can guide you through it
HealthCare.gov offers all the same plans for the same prices. Our website is easier to use, we have a simplified enrollment process, and we have licensed agents that are able to assist you throughout the enrollment process.
Make sure your current plan is still the best fit for you for the upcoming year by shopping on the Marketplace. There may be a new plan that’s better suited to your budget and health needs each year due to changes in plans and insurers. Furthermore, your income may qualify you for a higher subsidy if it has changed. Moreover, we can assist you with finding the best plans based on your personal needs for the upcoming year.Â
Renewing Obamacare Summary
You will need a few basic things to complete your re-enrollment whether you want to renew your existing Obamacare plan or choose a new one in the Marketplace insurance during the annual Open Enrollment Period. Make sure you have any documents you might need about your 2020 income, as well as information about your taxes, employer, and household (including anyone you might claim as a dependent). In most cases, you should be able to complete the Marketplace re-enrollment process easily if you have your financial and household information at hand. If you or your family are eligible, you can also apply for Medicaid, Medicare, and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
